NHS out of hours

When your doctors surgery or dental practice is closed you can contact NHS24 on 111 for urgent health advice. You can also visit the NHS24 website for further information on health services.

During evenings and weekends, if you or someone you know requires urgent social work support, please call 0300 343 1505.

Mental Health

If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts or self-harm, support is available 24 hours a day.

  • Call NHS24 on 111 or if you or someone you know is at immediate risk of harm call 999 or go to your nearest A&E
  • Call the Samaritans on 116 123 (24 hours a day, every day)
  • Call Breathing Space on 0800 83 85 87 (weekdays 6pm to 2am, weekends from Friday 6pm to Monday 6am)
  • Self-Harm Network Scotland (Self-Harm Network Scotland website) Message service available every day from 6pm-10pm (for people aged 12+).
